Before I talk about the Metro 6, I found some fun facts about Paris Metro, and would like to share with you guys. I didn't know the word "Metro", which is used in more than 50 countries comes from the Paris Metropolitan. It is said that every building in Paris is within 500 meters of a metro station in Paris, it is quite impressive. There are 245 working stations in Paris metro, and also a handful of ghost stations such as Arsenal, Haxo, or Porte Molitor, but sometimes these are open to the public at certain dates. I plan to go check those out, if you guys are interested in.
Line 6 is one of the sixteen lines of the Paris Metro rapid transit system. It runs between Charles de Gaulle-Etoile from the west and Nation to the east. The plans about the Paris Metro starts at 1845. But because of the arguments between planners of the Metro and government. There was no metro till 1900 which was the year of the world EXPO.
Line 6 opened on 1900, it was initially called 2 sud, before it was integrated with Line 5. It is 13.6 km long, and 6.1 km are above ground.
As I mentioned earlier there are quite few attractions, you can take Metro 6 to go to the Place de l'Etoile and the Arc de Trimphe, The place du Trocadero, Tour eiffel, Champ de Mars, Montparnasses and so on. Just a little tour guide here.
